We are a group of lively Mountain Guides who also enjoy hanging lights! Our technical rope skills and comfort at heights provide a perfect match for climbing roofs, ladder work, and being in trees.
We focus on the highest level of safety standards and are commercially insured. We work closely with every customer to create unique and stunning lighting displays for any home, business, holiday, or event.

Meet our team
Mike
Mike Elges is the founder and owner of Northern Lights Holiday & Event Lighting. An IFMGA/American Mountain Guide, he started the company to fill in the off-season of mountain guide work. Over the last decade his business-savvy creativity has grown the company into a premiere Northwest Lighting company serving 300+ clients annually.
Zack
Zack McGill is our Operations Manager. He has been around since the start and loves hanging lights almost as much as he loves climbing mountains. He once climbed to the summit of Mount Baker six times in two weeks. He lives in Bellingham with wife Rachael and son Quinn.
Brian
Brian Johnson owns his on guide service: Access the Alpine, but we all know that hanging lights to custom playlists on Spotify is his true passion. When he’s not playing in the mountains or hanging lights, he’s thinking about those things. Addictions… ya know?
Leland
Leland Nisky is our most enthusiastic Lead Light Technician. His roof climbing skills almost surpass his mountain climbing skills. His enthusiasm for both, though overwhelming for some, is impressive to witness.
Kyle
Kyle Babcock is one of the few on the team who comes from an arborist background rather than guiding. He’s been instrumental in updating our practices to ensure we keep trees healthy and unharmed with our lighting displays.
Bjorn
Bjorn Frithiof is a fantastic Light Technician with an eye for the little details that make big differences in displays. A bulb on every peak and perfectly spaced lights just the way we like em!
